This tour is organized and will be led by Tina Whitehead, a United Methodist layperson with decades of experience living in the Holy Land. She has worked as a volunteer missionary with several ministries and organizations in the Holy Land, including Sabeel Liberation Theology Center for most of 2006-2020, as well as Bethlehem Bible College.
This trip will combine visits to holy sites with opportunities to meet with Palestinians and hear stories about life in the Holy Land today.
The itinerary includes 2 nights in Taybeh in the West Bank, 3 nights in Bethlehem, 2 nights in Jerusalem and 2 nights in Tiberias visiting sites around the Sea of Galilee. The time in Bethlehem will include dinners with Palestinian families, a visit to the Walled-Off Hotel and museum, and time at the Tent of Nations. There will also be a free day in Jerusalem to explore the Old City.
Most pilgrims come to the Holy Land to “walk where Jesus walked.” We will do that, but we will also focus on what his teachings mean in today’s context.
