for our work to continue.

We need your support.

With very limited resources, UMKR has made a major impact in the United Methodist Church.

Groundbreaking divestment and boycott actions by the UMC would never have happened without UMKR's advocacy AND the extraordinary partners and allies who have worked with us and supported our efforts.

If we are to continue advocating for Palestinian rights throughout our international denomination, we need your support.

Mark Harrison
Peace with Justice Director
General Board of Church and Society
United Methodist Church

The United Methodist Church stands for peace and justice. Mark Harrison brings that calling to life. He leads the church’s peace and justice program and promotes Peace with Justice Sunday, one of the UMC’s eight special Sundays. The words of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and the marches to end racism and segregation are embedded in his soul.
Mark has lived and worked throughout the world. He’s worked with those living in some of the poorest parts of the world. He’s seen the aftermath of war and the devastating loss of friends, family and entire communities. He has seen firsthand how faith can aid the work of peace and justice. And that’s why he’s dedicated his life to working for peace and justice.
Mark has visited Israel/Palestine three times, most recently to attend the Kairos Palestine and Sabeel conferences in December 2019. He is the GBCS liaison to the UMKR Steering Committee.

New Administration, New Congress:
New Opportunities for Palestinian Rights

Wednesday, 13 January 2021
10am PT, 1pm ET (US, Canada) / 6pm UTC / 8pm Palestine

As a new Congress takes their seats in early January, and as Joe Biden and Kamala Harris are inaugurated later in the month, MFSA and UMKR offer this webinar to help us better understand what we might expect from the new Congress and new Administration related to Palestinian rights. Who will the key players be in Congress? What legislation might come forward? How do we best advocate for Palestine with Congress and in our own locales? What strategies can we use to deepen our influence in D.C.?
